Reusable A.T.A. Shipping Cases
Flight Form shipping cases are designed and built to eliminate the hazards and stress of shipping your valuable equipment by truck or airline. They are designed to meet or exceed rigorous Airline Transport Association (A.T.A.) specifications for reusable shipping cases.
In the world of custom, protective shipping cases, Flight Form cases are unsurpassed in quality and durability. Using carefully selected materials combined with precision manufacturing techniques, Flight Form cases are guaranteed to provide maximum protection for your valuable equipment. Whether you need to transport computer equipment, musical instruments, cameras, lighting gear, or entire tradeshow displays, Flight Form Cases will get you there. You have our name on it!
Exterior Framework
In the manufacturing stages, American made
plywood is laminated to shatterproof, high impact ABS plastic. The panels
are then slotted to
lock into a rivetless 90-degree extruded aluminum track. This edge angle
track is a proprietary Flight Form feature. It has an integral inside
web that adds considerable "beam" strength and keeps overall weight to
a minimum. Positive interlocking tongue in groove aluminum extrusions
complete the framework adding case stiffness. As a result of this unique
design and construction, shock caused from impact is evenly distributed
over entire panels. This uniform distribution minimizes the threat of
damage to your equipment and promotes longer case life. Others use an
outside 90-degree angle only, which has far less beam strength. These
other cases are further weakened by rivets which not only elongate in
the wood, allowing panels to shift and distort, but also concentrate shock
upon impact. Flight Form cases, when dropped, distribute the shock
evenly due to the inherent support of our unique rivetless extrusion.
There are no rivets to snag clothing, leaving a clean exterior appearance.
Others who use a rivetless extrusion crimp their inside aluminum angles leaving a void which will crush or further distort the case upon diagonal impact. Either of these two practices make it difficult at best to replace punctured panels. Flight Form case panels, in the event of damage or puncture due to freight abuse, are easily replaced at a fraction of the cost of a new case. In addition, our aluminum extrusions are anodized which not only hardens the material surface but also keeps hands and clothing from turning black when touched.
Quality Built In
Case interiors are designed for optimum shock absorption. Based on the characteristics of your equipment, we carefully select the proper interior padding from a wide variety of cushioning materials available. The most common lining is a hi-density, non-flaking polyester foam which insulates your equipment from shock. Other lining materials include closed-cell extra hi-density polyurethane, crosslink, and XPE foams, carpeting, vinyl, and fabric. These materials can easily be combined in any case interior, insuring that your equipment receives the best possible protection while being transported.
Flight Form Cases are completed with industrial quality, heavy gauge steel hardware to further strengthen the case structure. Latches, handles, corners and corner clamps are made of steel with a rust resistant zinc plating. Recessed, spring loaded twist latches prevent accidental opening. Recessed, spring loaded handles provide a comfortable, convenient grip and also fold flat when not in use to reduce the risk of freight damage. All one-piece hinged cases come with a keyed tumbler lock at no additional charge.
